Luigi Viprati has been making pipes since 1972. In that time he has built a reputation for hand crafting some of the most breathtaking straight grains & sandblasts available anywhere. No one realizes this more than Viprati who has built strong personal relationships with the mills or "segerie" which supply his briar, and he visits them periodically to hand select each block of the extra-extra plateaux briar. Viprati has often accompanied the harvesting crew(s) into the dry hills of Tuscany to insure that he gets the best blocks possible.

 

This particular pipe exemplifies some beautiful swirl, as well as some wonderful straight grain. The unique freehand bowl shape is very stylish and comfortable in the hand! The pipe is gorgeous , and is sure to be an excellent smoker or collectors piece.

 

The Luigi Viprati Clover system is his way of grading the pipes that are not a part of his various "Collection" series. They usually rank between 1 and 5 clovers. The more clovers, the higher the grade of that particular pipe.
